(FOX40.COM) — SMUD is sponsoring Giving Friday at the California State Fair, giving those who donate food a free entry ticket, in an effort to collect needed items for the Sacramento Food Bank and Family Services.
From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on July 17, 24 and 31, each person who donates five non-perishable, non-expired food items will receive a free ticket to the California State Fair.
“Giving Friday truly reflects SMUD’s commitment to our community, especially those facing food insecurity,” SMUD CEO and General Manager Paul Lau said. “This year, we’re excited to partner with the Sacramento Food Bank to celebrate their 50th anniversary by giving back to the communities we serve. With rising costs affecting so many families, this partnership offers a meaningful and easy way for neighbors to support each other while enjoying all the fun at the State Fair.”…
