Orangevale fire destroys elderly woman’s two-story home, outhouses, 2 cars and more

(FOX40.COM) — Multiple structures were damaged in a two-story house fire Thursday morning, according to the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District.

Metro Fire said crews responded to reports of a house and exterior fire around 3 a.m. in the 9100 block of Cherry Avenue in Orangevale.

Crews with Metro Fire and the Folsom Fire Department arrived to find a large, well-involved fire impacting a two-story home, multiple outbuildings, a chicken coop, two vehicles, an RV and surrounding vegetation.

Firefighters requested additional resources due to the severity of the fire and quickly began attacking it, crews said…
