(FOX40.COM) — A fire that broke out in El Dorado County Sunday morning has burned more than 90 acres, Cal Fire officials said.
The vegetation fire began just after 6:45 a.m. in the area of Miners Valley and Salmon Falls Road in Pilot Hill, an unincorporated community in El Dorado County east of Roseville, fire officials said.
The fire is 15% contained, and “additional resources” were requested to battle flames. Forward progress of the fire was stopped after firefighters deployed retardant, fire officials said.There is a mandatory evacuation for the area between Miners Valley Road and Equestrian Way in Pilot Hill, El Dorado County government officials announced in a social media post Sunday afternoon.
County officials directed those evacuating to use Salmon Hills Road to reach either El Dorado Hills or Cool. The El Dorado County Library, located at 345 Fair Lane in Placerville, is a designated “temporary evacuation point,” county officials said…
