SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Four Sacramento residents have been indicted by a federal grand jury on multiple drug distribution charges following an undercover Drug Enforcement Administration investigation, according to U.S. Attorney Eric Grant.
The indictment charges Balentin Quintero, 27, Francisco Chavez, 39, Steven Ortega, 44, and Tavarius Montgomery, 41, with various counts related to the distribution of fentanyl, cocaine and methamphetamine. Ortega is also charged with being a felon in possession of firearms.
According to court documents, the four men allegedly sold controlled substances to a confidential source and an undercover agent eight times between January and June 2026.
