(FOX40.COM) — Bird rescuers are urging anglers to properly dispose of fishing line after responding to multiple bird entanglements in the Sacramento area over the past two weeks.
The Sacramento Heron and Egret Rescue has responded to two separate incidents involving birds trapped in discarded fishing line, dangling high in trees since July 22 — one of which caused severe injury to a juvenile Swainson’s hawk.
