A vacant commercial building on Sacramento’s 2300 block of American River Drive erupted in flames Saturday morning, sending a thick plume of smoke across the neighborhood. Fire crews arrived to find heavy fire chewing through the boarded up structure and moved fast to knock down the visible flames. One firefighter was injured at the scene and taken to a hospital, where officials said the condition was stable.
