They stole hundreds of communications towers’ power sources. Now they’re being sentenced

(FOX40.COM) — A Sacramento man who was one of four people involved in a scheme to steal and sell critical communications equipment was sentenced to prison Thursday.

36-year-old Jonathan Matthew Curl was sentenced to two years in prison for conspiracy to transport stolen property and for interstate transportation of stolen property, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of California announced. He also has to pay $282,000 in restitution.

Curl worked with three others to enter communications towers and steal rectifiers and other communications equipment, prosecutors said. Rectifiers are a necessary power source for communications towers…
