Volunteer events offer hands-on opportunities to support Sacramento parks this weekend

Two volunteer events this Saturday will give community members a chance to improve local parks while learning new skills and spending time outdoors.

The Department of Youth, Parks, & Community Enrichment (YPCE) is hosting a cleanup at Jacinto Creek Dog Park and a hands-on workshop at the McKinley Park Rose Garden on April 25. Both events are free and open to the public.

From 8 a.m. to noon, volunteers at Jacinto Creek Dog Park will help with tree trimming, weeding, mulching and general park beautification. Tools will be provided, and participants are encouraged to wear closed-toe shoes and bring a water bottle…
