Smash-and-Grab Driver Crashes Through Antelope Walgreens, Speeds Off Before Deputies Arrive

In the early hours of Tuesday morning, a car plowed into the front of the Walgreens on Antelope Road in the Antelope area of Sacramento, tearing up the main entrance and setting off a sheriff’s investigation. By the time deputies showed up, the vehicle involved was already gone, and crews spent the early morning working to secure the damaged storefront.

Scene and sheriff’s account

The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office says deputies were called out just after 3 a.m. to the Walgreens at 4331 Antelope Road. Investigators believe the driver intentionally rammed the vehicle into the building in an attempt to burglarize the store, according to FOX40. Deputies told reporters the car was already gone when they arrived, and an active investigation is underway.
