(FOX40.COM) — A resident of Sacramento County is under “active monitoring” after being exposed on an international flight.
The resident was not a passenger on the cruise ship associated with the outbreak, Sacramento County Public Health officials told FOX40. They are not currently displaying symptoms of hantavirus and are under home quarantine where they are being monitored by local, state and federal agencies.
“The risk to the public remains very low, but we are taking this situation seriously and following all recommended monitoring protocols out of an abundance of caution,” Dr. Olivia Kasirye, Sacramento County’s public health officer, said in a statement. “At this time, the individual is not sick and has not been diagnosed with hantavirus.”…
