Aviator’s Restaurant, located at 6151 Freeport Blvd inside Sacramento Executive Airport, has remained closed for months after a flooring project uncovered larger structural issues inside the restaurant. What was initially expected to take only a few weeks has now turned into a repair effort that could keep the longtime Sacramento spot closed for up to two years.
The restaurant originally closed on Dec. 24th for the holidays and found unexpected damage that needed to be checked. The construction workers uncovered structural damage during construction, including deteriorated rebar beneath the concrete, mold, asbestos, and water intrusion, according to the Sacramento Bee.
Owner Cheung-Sang Chik confirmed to What Now Sacramento that the entire remodeling process is being handled by Sacramento County and the Department of Airports, with reopening projections of around two years…
