Severe thunderstorms, flooding threaten St. Louis region Friday evening

ST. LOUIS — Severe thunderstorms are rolling through the St. Louis area Friday evening, prompting the National Weather Service Forecast to issue a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for St. Louis, St. Charles, Lincoln, and counties. A flood advisory has also been issued for St. Louis City and County.

Storms developing across eastern Missouri and southwest Illinois are producing winds capable of downing trees and power lines, with hail and isolated tornadoes continuing to be possible.

Flooding also remains a concern. A Flood Warning is in effect until 4:15 a.m. Saturday for Iron, Reynolds, Crawford and Washington counties in Missouri, while a Flood Advisory was issued through 11:30 p.m. Friday for Randolph County, Illinois.
