Ruler Foods to close south St. Louis grocery store

ST. LOUIS – A south St. Louis Ruler Foods store is set to close at the end of the month. The discount grocery chain confirmed this week that its location at 2700 S. Grand Blvd. will permanently close July 31.

“Unfortunately, we have made the difficult decision to close our 2700 S. Grand Blvd., St. Louis, Missouri, store,” Ruler Foods spokesperson Amy McCormick said in a statement. “While we are leaving this location, we will offer each impacted associate the opportunity to transfer to a new location. This closure is part of our larger company-wide decision to run more efficiently and ensure the long-term health of our business.”

McCormick said workers affected by the closure will have the opportunity to transfer to another Ruler Foods location.
