Charges issued after 16-year-old killed in Cahokia Heights, suspect not in custody

CAHOKIA HEIGHTS, Ill. (First Alert 4) – Charges have been filed in the shooting death of a 16-year-old in Cahokia Heights. Investigators say the suspect is not in custody.

The State’s Attorney’s Office charged 20-year-old Cleveland J. Ware with first-degree murder, two counts of aggravated discharge of a firearm and aggravated unlawful use of a weapon.

Police ask anyone who knows Ware’s whereabouts to contact the Cahokia Heights Police Department.

On Saturday, police were called to the 1100 block of Camp Jackson Road in Cahokia Heights for a shooting. At the scene, police found 16-year-old Lamerion L. Davis. Davis was pronounced dead at the scene…
