CREVE COEUR, Mo. — Emergency crews in Creve Coeur worked to rescue a man trapped in a trench collapse in a residential construction site Monday.
According to the Creve Coeur Fire Protection District, the collapse happened at about 4:30 p.m. Monday along Country Manor Court near Country Manor Lane in a subdivision near Interstate 270. First responders said the individual was buried up to the waist, and that crews were able to get him out, and sent to a nearby hospital.

Emergency crews said that the rescue took about two hours, and that rescue proved quite difficult because of how deep the trench was, (about 8 ft deep) as well as how close the trench was to a home.
