Cahokia teachers, district return to bargaining table for contract negotiations ahead of school year

CAHOKIA HEIGHTS, Ill. (First Alert 4) – The Cahokia Unit School District 187 and its teachers union, the Cahokia Federation of Teachers 1272, returned to the bargaining table Monday, with the school year set to begin in two weeks, but no agreement was reached.

Negotiations between the district and the union resumed Monday afternoon. Before talks began, dozens of teachers, students and parents lined the streets of Cahokia Heights for several hours, demanding fair contracts for teachers and staff. Passing drivers honked in support.
