FERGUSON, Mo. – Ferguson police are investigating after thousands of dollars in valuable gold and silver coins were reported stolen from a home there earlier this week. It happened just after 10 a.m. at Clark Prest’s home on Roberta Avenue near South Florissant Road.
Surveillance footage shows a man walking out of the front door of the house with multiple items around 10:10 a.m. He then climbs into the back of what appears to be an awaiting getaway car and drives off. The items taken were valuable, too; Prest estimates the man stole around $6,000 in rare gold and silver coins.
Prest said he was away getting groceries at the time of the theft. When he returned, all of his coins were gone. He said he fears the alleged thief is not a stranger, because the man knew exactly where to find the coins in Prest’s second-floor bedroom. Prest said he and his roommate collected the rare coins.
