5 arrested, 3 charged in shootout in downtown St. Paul, police say

Five men were arrested Thursday, three of whom are facing criminal charges, in connection to what the ATF says was “a rolling gun battle” that send dozens of families scrambling for safety earlier this month after a graduation ceremony in St. Paul, Minnesota.

The shooting occurred in downtown on May 4 outside of Grand Casino Arena and Saint Paul RiverCentre.

Investigators say the shooting broke out between two gangs, Muddy and Vill. One man “threw disrespectful gang signs to antagonize Vill associates … across the street,” according to court documents. That’s when it escalated into a fist fight, and then a gunfight…
