Lonely’s Bar opens in historic Minneapolis building

The former home of Pracna in St. Anthony Main has a new tenant.

Lonely’s Bar quietly opened at 117 SE Main St. in Minneapolis last week, bringing a new chapter to one of the city’s oldest bar locations. The building was considered the longest continually operating bar space, dating back to the 1890s, until Pracna on Main closed in 2015.

It’s owned by Erik Hamline, a former owner of Bar Harmony, and Eric Odness and Michael Peterson, owners of Zhora Darling, who have revitalized the space with a “back to basics” mentality.

Sitting next to The Main Cinema, it’s a straightforward bar with brick walls and a pool table. The cocktail menu skips cutesy names in favor of classics…
