John Legend is headed to downtown Minneapolis for a one-night-only performance, headlining the Northside Achievement Zone’s SoarNorth Gala at the Minneapolis Armory on Saturday, Oct. 24. The star power is landing on an event that has turned into a financial lifeline for North Minneapolis programs.
The fifth annual SoarNorth Gala has grown into a serious moneymaker, typically hauling in more than $3 million a year, according to the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal. Legend will top the bill for this year’s edition at the Armory.
Northside Achievement Zone (NAZ) confirmed the booking on its LinkedIn page, noting that the 2026 gala, presented by Cargill, will mark the nonprofit’s 15th anniversary and a return to the Armory. NAZ also announced that tickets for the Oct. 24 event go on sale July 13, according to Northside Achievement Zone’s LinkedIn post.

The SoarNorth Gala is NAZ’s largest annual fundraiser and supports cradle-to-career programs for North Minneapolis families. Independent evaluations and a prospective return-on-investment study have followed NAZ’s outcomes and influence in the neighborhood, per Wilder Research.
