State Attorney to contractor: pay restitution or face criminal charges

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — A South Tampa couple who called Better Call Behnken for help after problems with a handyman business now has the promise of a refund or accountability.

The Hillsborough County State Attorney’s Office confirmed a pre-file pretrial intervention contract agreement has been reached with the contractor involved in the dispute.

Susan and Jim Niro contacted 8 On Your Side last July about an unfinished kitchen remodel. The couple said they hired Miller’s Home Repair and Special Projects, LLC in October 2024 for a remodeling project totaling $46,269.
