APOLLO BEACH, Fla. (WFLA) — Biologists with the Florida Aquarium’s Sea Turtle Rehabilitation Center say one turtle is making a remarkable recovery from one of the worst injuries they’ve ever treated.
Unlike most doctors, Florida Aquarium’s staff veterinarian Dr. Lindsey Waxman says she likes fighting with her patients.
“If you’re working with wildlife and the animal is trying to kill you’ve done a good job because now it has the energy to fight and to survive in the wild and that’s what we want to see,” said Dr. Waxman.Squirming and wiggling are a welcome sign on her patient, a sea turtle who came in a few weeks ago and almost didn’t make it…
