Hot Week Ahead for the Suncoast

SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) – We still need rain desperately. But most of the rain will be inland, away from the beaches and our coastal cities. Westerly winds are going to stick around through the first half of next week. That west coast sea breeze rules our weather. It’ll push any rain that tries to develop back inland before it can really get going over Manatee and Sarasota Counties. Meanwhile, the interior is going to see more frequent afternoon and early evening showers and thunderstorms as moisture hangs around.

TROPICAL OUTLOOK – NEXT 7 DAYS

Waters near Florida and the Atlantic are still quiet as can be. West near eastern Mexico and Texas, disorganized activity showers and thunderstorms continue. But, environmental conditions aren’t expected to be very favorable for any significant development. If anything does form, it would move inland over eastern Mexico, so it won’t affect us here on the Suncoast. Formation chances: Low at 20 percent through 7 days.
