Man dies after being struck by deputy’s vehicle

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. (WWSB) – A pedestrian died Sunday from injuries sustained in a crash involving a Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office deputy late Saturday night, deputies said.

The crash occurred at about 10:20 p.m. Saturday near West Hillsborough Avenue and Ambassador Drive.

According to the sheriff’s office, Deputy Jonathan Kennon, 35, was driving an unmarked 2024 Chevrolet Silverado eastbound in the center lane of West Hillsborough Avenue when the vehicle struck a pedestrian who was crossing the roadway outside a marked crosswalk…
