Permanent daylight saving time bill draws mixed reactions in Florida

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — The U.S. House passed a bill that would make daylight saving time permanent, Tuesday. The bill is getting bipartisan support and gives individual states the option to opt out of permanent daylight saving time. But many Florida lawmakers say they want to lock the clock.

“Everybody’s outside getting active,” said one man walking along Tampa’s Riverwalk.

He said it’s these moments when he appreciates daylight saving time.
