TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — The Tampa Bay Buccaneers honored two deputies who survived a shooting in Ruskin with personalized gifts Tuesday, showing the team’s appreciation for their service.
Deputy Sopharmony Muon and Deputy Colton Daniels both received signed jerseys with their names on the back, as well as their own game balls from the team. The celebration came with lots of hugs and smiles, as just weeks ago the deputies were recovering in the hospital.
They were responding to a home in Ruskin on July 16 after a woman escaped from the residence and reported being held captive by her ex-boyfriend, Christopher Dmuchowski.
Muon was the first to arrive at the home and was immediately met by gunfire from Dmuchowski, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office. Muon suffered gunshot wounds to his face and left hand but ultimately survived the injuries after undergoing surgery…
