Pinellas County Schools Superintendent Kevin Hendrick shared recommendations Thursday that include shutting down six schools at the end of this school year as part of a cost-saving plan totaling around $25 million. Six schools face closure: Tarpon Springs Fundamental, Kings Highway, Blanton, Bear Creek, Sexton, and Lealman Innovation.
Feeding Tampa Bay will lease Lealman Innovation Academy. Azalea Elementary is moving to a K-8 school. It will relocate to the current Azalea Middle School campus in 2028-29.
