ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (WFLA) — Broken bottles, overgrown vegetation, and you can’t escape the noise. There’s not much allure underneath the I-275 bridge in St. Pete near Tropicana Field.
The nonprofit Friends of Trails Crossing is trying to change that.
The goal is redeveloping the land into “Trails Crossing,” a mixed-use, family-friendly area. The eight block, 12-and-a-half-acre area going from 5th Avenue South to Burlington Avenue would have a wide range of entertainment like farmer’s markets, an amphitheater, and children’s playhouses.
