Tensions ran high on an Allegiant flight at St. Petersburg-Clearwater International Airport when a bomb threat was discovered in the plane’s bathroom. The aircraft, slated to journey to Cincinnati, was immobilized on the tarmac on Friday at around 4:51 p.m., as reported by the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office. All passengers and crew members were promptly evacuated without injury, leaving behind their personal effects in the hastened exit.
According to the press release, the Sheriff’s Office Bomb Dogs, tirelessly working with agencies from the surrounding areas, thoroughly inspected not only the implicated plane but also additional aircraft. No evidence of an explosive device was found during these meticulous searches. Despite the inconvenience, including a multi-hour flight delay, all planes have now been cleared to resume their operations, to the relief of the disrupted passengers.
The incident has prompted an ongoing investigation by the Sheriff’s Office Threat Management Division. As the probe continues, officials remain tight-lipped, providing no further comment on potential suspects or motives behind the threat…
