Motorcycle collides with police cruiser in St. Petersburg, injuring two

ST. PETERSBURG, Florida — A motorcycle crash involving a police cruiser left two individuals injured, according to a press release from the department.

On May 1, 2026, at 8:29 p.m., Parker Lehman, a 30-year-old from St. Petersburg, was riding a Yamaha motorcycle eastbound on 54th Ave. N. toward 16th St. N. when the incident occurred. Officer Richard Thomas was driving a Ford Explorer police cruiser westbound on 54th Ave. N. and attempted to make a left turn onto 16th St. N. The motorcycle collided with the front passenger side of the cruiser.

Lehman, who was wearing a helmet, sustained serious injuries and was transported to Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital. Officer Thomas also received minor injuries and was taken to the same hospital for treatment…
