Man rescued after 60-foot fall down steep Molalla hillside

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – A man was hospitalized on Tuesday after falling about 60 feet down a steep hillside in Molalla, officials announced.

Around 2:30 p.m., a Clackamas Fire District crew was dispatched to the rescue on South Butte Creek Road.

According to CFD, two young adults who were with the man, climbed down the hillside to assist him. However, they were unable to safely bring him up the hill because of his injuries and the terrain.

First responders used a low-angle rope rescue system and secured the injured man in a Stokes basket and brought him to the top of the hillside.
