Summer burn ban takes effect in parts of greater Portland area starting soon

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) —  Portland Fire & Rescue and Washington County will implement a summer burn ban starting June 15 due to hot, dry conditions and rising wildfire risk, prohibiting campfires, fire pits, and most outdoor burning across the city.

As summer weather ramps up, the risk of wildfires increases as well. The burn ban in Portland will last until this fall. Washington County‘s burn ban end date is unspecified.
