In order to replace several critical joints, the Oregon Department of Transportation announced that it will close three northbound lanes across the Boone Bridge and the Miley Road I-5 northbound entrance ramp from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. five nights a week beginning at the end of June.
The Boone Bridge is regularly the site of persistent I-5 traffic and ODOT warned travelers of heavy congestion on both the northbound and southbound portions of the freeway as well as detour routes.
Those detour routes include:
- Airport Rd, turn right at Arndt Road, turn right at Hwy 551 for I-5 north
- I-5 south to Exit 278 Donald Road, then get back on I-5 heading north
- 99E from Aurora through Canby to Oregon City to connect with I-205
Head west to Newberg from Charbonneau past Champoeg to 219 north, cross the river and turn right on Wilsonville Road to connect with I-5 & Wilsonville.ODOT has yet to announce when the closures will officially begin due to uncertainty about weather and scheduling. The overnight closures are planned for at least 15 weeks…
