Lebanon Fire extinguishes two-acre grass fire near KGAL Road after 1st alarm

LEBANON, Ore. — Lebanon Fire District made quick work of a two-acre grass fire on Monday, June 15.

Firefighters were dispatched around 5 p.m. to reports of a small natural cover fire in the 35900 block of KGAL Road. While en route, the Battalion Chief witnessed a large smoke column and immediately upgraded the incident to a 1st alarm for additional manpower and fire apparatus.

He found a fast-moving fire in a windrowed field being driven by steady winds, pushing the fire towards the roadway and multiple pieces of farming equipment…
