If any more bears are spotted in the Newberg area, people may need to begin hiding their picnic baskets.
For the third time in six weeks, a black bear has been seen roaming the outskirts of Newberg. Most recently, on June 26, it was on the other end of town from sightings in mid-May and early June.
“We have had another incident regarding a bear sighting in Newberg in the area of Highway 219 and Wynooski Street,” Newberg-Dundee police officials posted on social media. “It appeared to be heading out of town, but if you see it, please keep your distance and let it pass through.”…
