Oregon man who was found with intoxicated teens in backseat of car sentenced

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) —  A Mapleton man will spend more than eight years in prison after convictions in Polk and Lane counties for sexually abusing minor victims, illegally possessing firearms, and other crimes tied to a traffic stop that uncovered two teenage girls in his vehicle, according to officials on Thursday.

According to the Polk County District Attorney’s Office, Jesse Michael Shelton, 45, was arrested in April 2025 by Dallas police officers after they believed he was driving under the influence.

As they looked into the incident further, authorities said that two teenage girls showed signs of marijuana and alcohol consumption in the backseat of Shelton’s car. Multiple rounds of ammunition, assorted liquor, and drug paraphernalia were also uncovered…
