LINN COUNTY, OR — A 57-year-old man being held at the Linn County Jail died days after deputies found him unresponsive in his cell during an early-morning check, according to Linn County Sheriff Michelle Duncan.
Duncan reported that on Aug. 22, 2026, at about 5:33 a.m., Linn County Jail deputies conducting hourly cell checks found adult-in-custody Ronald Rambo, 57, of Scio, breathing but unresponsive in his cell and experiencing an apparent medical emergency. Rambo was alone in his cell and had last been checked by jail deputies at about 4:58 a.m., 35 minutes earlier, and was not exhibiting any apparent signs of medical distress.
