CORVALLIS — Oregon State’s offense had success through the air, but less so on the ground, while its defensive line caused disruption during the team’s first spring scrimmage.

JaMarcus Shephard was pleased overall with the Beavers’ first scrimmage of his tenure, specifically in operating without many penalties or missed tackles.

“I thought we did a good job moving the ball throughout the course of the entire practice with our offense,” Shephard said. “Then I felt like our defense really stepped up in the middle portion of the practice to really tighten the screws up and prevent them from being able to move the ball.”…
