SALEM, Ore. – Oregon will not receive federal funding to help prevent future damage from storms like the ones that hit nine counties in December 2025.
The Federal Emergency Management Agency told Gov. Tina Kotek that Oregon won’t get money under the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program as part of the major disaster declaration. The governor has instructed the Oregon Department of Emergency Management to appeal the decision.
President Trump approved the disaster declaration on April 7, authorizing Public Assistance for Clackamas, Hood River, Lane, Lincoln, Linn, Polk, Tillamook, Union and Yamhill counties.
