Man gets over 10 years in prison for attempted murder during Salem online food delivery

SALEM, Ore. — A man was sentenced to more than ten years in prison after law enforcement officers say he sexually assaulted and stabbed a Salem woman several times while making food deliveries back in February.

A Polk County judge sentenced Daniel Ray Myers, 63, to 130 months – or 10 years and 10 months – in prison for Attempted Murder and First-Degree Assault related to an incident on February 10, 2026.

Investigators say Myers and the victim were sitting in his car around 9 p.m., making online food delivery orders, when he drove her to a secluded area in West Salem, tried to sexually assault her, and stabbed her when she fought back…
