Two hospitalized following wrong-way driver crashes on I-215

SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) — Two people were taken to the hospital after a wrong-way driver crashed into another driver on Interstate 215 in Salt Lake.

The crash happened around 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Lt. Cameron Roden with Utah Highway Patrol said moments before they had received reports of a wrong-way driver driving east in the westbound lanes of I-80 near 700 East.

The wrong-way driver, who has not been identified, then headed southbound onto a ramp into northbound lanes on I-215. Shortly after, the driver collided with oncoming traffic.

Lt. Roden said the wrong-way driver was hospitalized in serious condition while the driver in the oncoming vehicle was hospitalized in moderate condition. The extent of their injuries was not disclosed…
