SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — A man has been sentenced to life without possibility of parole after being convicted of a double homicide from 2018 in West Valley City where he shot two people with an AR-15 while naked.
According to the Salt Lake County District Attorney’s Office, a Third District Court judge sentenced Kennedy Lund, 31, to life in prison without the possibility of parole for the murders of Chasidy Gerber and Martin Barron in 2018. In February 2026, a jury convicted Lund on two counts of aggravated murder.
The murders happened on June 26, 2018. The West Valley City Police Department responded to reports of shots fired, and when they arrived, a woman was standing nearby holding an AR-15. Police told her to drop the weapon, which she did. She directed police inside the home, where they found Lund in the basement, naked.
