Updated: Amber Alert canceled after Salt Lake City boy found safe, mother arrested, police say

The South Salt Lake City Police Department canceled an Amber Alert on Friday night shortly after the alert was issued after they located a 9-year-old boy and his mother.

A news release from that police department, posted on its Facebook page, said that the boy, Raymond Virgil, is safe, and that his mother, Marie Erika Lynn Marsh, 33, was taken into custody.

“We appreciate the cooperation with Unified Police Department in the recovery of Raymond safely and quickly,” the news release said. “The safety and welfare of children remain our highest priority, and we dedicate immediate, comprehensive resources to every report of a missing child.”…
