SLCPD: Man who fled from police, crashed vehicle near restaurant faces multiple felony charges

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, June 14, 2026 (Gephardt Daily) — A 26-year-old man was arrested early Saturday morning after police say he fled from officers — twice — once in a vehicle, the second time on foot, after crashing near a restaurant on Redwood Road.

According to court documents, Martin Jesus Mendoza faces three third-degree felony charges, including failure to respond to an officer’s signal to stop, burglary, and an enhanced DUI charge for having two or more prior offenses in last 10 years.

A police officer’s affidavit in Mendoza’s probable cause statement said he was making multiple moving violations as he traveled north at 10400 S. Redwood Road about 12:49 a.m…
