SALT LAKE CITY, Utah — A Houston man has been sentenced to five years in prison for his role in a 2024 ATM robbery in Salt Lake County.
Jevaunte Reese, a 33-year-old from Houston, Texas, pleaded guilty to credit union robbery on March 30, 2026. His co-defendants, Lashawn Charleswell, Tiras Jack, Harold Oliver, and Calvin Brantley, also pleaded guilty and were sentenced in 2025. In addition to their prison terms, Judge David Sam ordered the group to pay $4,309 jointly and severally, according to court documents.
The robbery occurred on September 11, 2024, when the Taylorsville Police Department and FBI agents responded to the Mountain America Credit Union in Taylorsville, Utah. An ATM technician, contracted to repair the machine, was present during the heist. Reese admitted that he and his co-defendants had disabled the ATM and waited for the technician’s arrival.
