SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — Changes to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints’ Sunday instruction started today.
Earlier this year, the Church announced that it would adjust its Sunday class meeting schedules. Previously, each local ward or stake would meet for two hours, with the first hour being Sacrament meeting, with the whole ward gathering together. The second hour would alternate between Sunday School one week and smaller class meetings with instruction specific to age and gender the alternating week.
However, under the new schedule, both Sunday School and class meetings each week. Rather than each section taking an hour, the meetings last 25 minutes, with brief transitional periods between each period.
Sacrament meeting is still 60 minutes. Additionally, Primary, which provides instruction for young kids in the Church, will be 55 minutes including singing time and class study of the scriptures.

According to the Church, this change to their schedule is meant to help support individuals and families in their worship.
