SAN ANTONIO – A 57-year-old woman died on Thursday after suffering a medical emergency while in custody at the Bexar County Adult Detention Center.
According to the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office, Elizabeth Anne Nero experienced a sudden medical episode while in her assigned housing area at the jail. Medical personnel with University Health responded and stabilized her condition before determining she needed additional evaluation.
EMS arrived to transport Nero, but her condition worsened, and she became unresponsive. Lifesaving measures were performed at the detention center, but Nero was pronounced dead at 5:31 p.m…
