A student and cross country runner at the University of the Incarnate Word was killed in a car crash in his Denton County hometown of Sanger on May 28.
Shawn “Sam” Musgrave, 19, had just completed his first semester at UIW in San Antonio, where he was attending on a full cross country scholarship, his obituary said. He was part of the university’s men’s track and field team, but did not compete with the team in the spring, a UIW spokesman said. Musgrave began attending classes at UIW in January.
