A longtime Alamo Heights landmark soon will be no more.
The recently shuttered Barn Door Restaurant and Meat Market, which has stood at the corner of North New Braunfels and Crownhill avenues since 1953, will be razed next month to make way for the relocation of Mexican eatery Soluna, according to the San Antonio Report.
“We’re going to tear the Barn Door down and build from the ground up,” Gerardo Calvillo, general manager of Soluna and El Mirasol owner Mamita’s Cuisine Inc. told the online news outlet. “We’re hoping to start demolition within the next month.
