Tim Hortons is often considered the Canadian Starbucks, but Canada’s largest quick-service restaurant chain is expanding into “Starbies” territory, including Texas. In February, MySA reported that the first Tim Hortons in San Antonio was in the works, and now a second location appears to be brewing in the Alamo City.
On June 4, a new project details page was registered with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, revealing additional details about the second Tim Hortons location planned for San Antonio. While the first planned Tim Hortons will be near Redland Road, the second location is expected to open at 14076 Nacogdoches Road, in the former home of a combined Taco Bell and KFC.
The project details page also noted that an estimated $600,000 will be spent on the construction of the new Tim Hortons. According to the page, construction is expected to run from July 15, 2026, to November 15, 2026. MySA has sent a media inquiry to Tim Hortons to request an estimated opening date for the Nacogdoches location, and we will update this story if and when we receive a response.
An opening date for the Tim Hortons planned for 1604 and Redland Road has also been kept under wraps, but a rep for the coffee chain told MySA they were aiming for sometime this summer.
